Falstaffs (Tudor World)

  • Falstaff 40 Sheep Street Stratford-upon-Avon, England, CV37 6EE United Kingdom (map)

Tucked away in the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon, Falstaffs is a Grade II* listed Tudor building with over 600 years of history and plenty of stories that refuse to stay buried. Once a merchant’s home, later a Victorian schoolhouse, and now one of the town’s most paranormally active sites — it’s steeped in ghostly legend.

Visitors report phantom footsteps, disembodied voices, temperature drops, and the eerie sensation of being followed. Shadow figures have been seen darting between doorways, and the spirit of a former schoolmistress is rumoured to still stalk the upper floors. The building’s connection to Shakespeare-era Stratford adds another layer of intrigue — especially when you consider the tales of secret tunnels and dark rituals said to have taken place beneath the beams.

If you like your hauntings old, bold, and unapologetically theatrical, Falstaffs does not disappoint.
