Dating back to the early 1400s, Hooke Court has seen centuries of war, wealth, and whispered hauntings. Once used as a Royalist stronghold during the English Civil War, it’s no stranger to conflict — or to the lingering presence of those who never left.
Guests and investigators report cold spots in the great hall, the sound of heavy boots pacing the upper floors, and disembodied voices echoing through the corridors. In one of the bedrooms, bedsheets are said to tug themselves tight at night, and doors creak open as if someone unseen has slipped inside.
The most unnerving tale is that of a young woman believed to have died tragically on the grounds — her sobs are often heard near the old well, and shadowy figures have been captured moving between the trees outside.
Hooke Court looks peaceful by day, but when darkness falls, its centuries of history stir awake — and the air grows thick with memories that refuse to fade.
